¿Education?

Tue Sep 27, 2005, 9:01 PM
With so many more important things to do before we die, why do we waste ourselves freely memorizing trivial trivia that we will not need, when there are so many more beautiful things to ACCOMPLISH. As Modest Mouse says, "It so easy to forget that we're alive for the first time. It's so easy to forget that we're alive for the last time. If you could be anything, I bet you'd be dissapointed."

Mood: Vengeful Fed the fuck up
Listening to: I'm afraid of who's afraid of Virginia Wolfe
Watching: What the bleep do we know

Isn't it ironic that education is one of the chief obstacal of freedom of thought? Isn't it ironic that these 12-20 years I spend to "Better my quality of life" will produce low self esteem (becuause I find no difference in myself from the millions of other people doing the same thing that i am), sleeping disorders and mental illness? Isn't it ironic that they cage our bodies, but cannot cage our souls...

I am proposing a total drop out of school as we know it. What would happen if everyone just stopped going? It's obvious that no one likes it, it's obvious that it's hurting us much more that helping us. I can safely say that I have learned more things that I use today outside of school than inside. When's the last time you needed to recall the date and reason of death of the 33rd president to survive in this world? Do a quadratic equation? Know how a nerve cell works? If these things interest you then you will hear this information in this world of ours outside of school, and retain it... at such a young age we don't want to be told what we need to learn, no one knows what we need to learn but us. Not these ignorent government officials that sit in chairs arguing all day about money, and how to keep peace by starting wars. Fuck them. In fact, fuck our lives, livelyhood, and ourselves if we don't do somthing about our culture. We are all going to die anyway, why do you want to live 97 years if it means it's going to be in a middle gray world from all of the exhaust the abulances are releasing as they drive us back and forth to the hospital for treatment of diseases that the drug companies make up. Do you know what it means to ADD gray to a picture? It means making the picture less contrasty, thus taking away it's aesthetic conflict, thus taking away it's interest. Fuck every way of thinking that goes on today except the Native Americans, they had it. I'm going to Alaska, where I can live my life in peace, and learn things from God... Not the cliche Christian God, or the war mongering Islam God. Not the sedatious Technological God, but the God of Ideas, Reality, and Everything we can't see. Doesn't that sound better than sitting in a class room, festering like bacteria, the air stagnant all around you, being educated on why you should sell your soul to the buisiness world and kill yourself with a neck tie?
